Professor Brian Cantor, Vice Chancellor of The University of York is to welcome members of the European FOR-EMC project to the Department of Electronics/York EMC Services Ltd in January for a two-day workshop on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
The Forum of laboratories implementing the EU Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (FOR-EMC) is an initiative funded by the EU Competitive and Sustainable Growth Programme. Its purpose is to encourage shared learning and knowledge transfer concerning the EMC Directive, with the aim of preparing candidate states for the process of implementation of the EMC Directive. The forum is the first attempt to found a network of EMC laboratories on the European scale, allowing both the Department of Electronics and York EMC Services the opportunity to showcase their EMC expertise to EU candidate states looking to learn from their experience.
Members include academics representing EMC laboratories from all across Europe, from countries such as Poland and Slovakia. Previous events have been held in strategic European locations such as Turin and Athens.
The EMC workshop programme is available for download (32 kB PDF).
The workshop is to be held on the 15 and 16 January 2004.
