iNARTE Certification crowns best ever year for CPD

The establishment of York EMC Services as a test centre for iNARTE and the certification of its first 3 consultancy engineers, pictured right, marks a high point in the CPD year.
iNARTE, with its HQ located in New Bern, North Carolina, allows professional recognition for EMC engineers and technicians under the titles of iNARTE Certified EMC Engineer and iNARTE Certified EMC Technician. These professional qualifications have become recognised worldwide. iNARTE approves test centres to examine both the theoretical and practical skills and knowledge of EMC engineers and technicians, and test centres have been established throughout the USA, Japan, and now for the first time in the UK, here in York.
iNARTE is just another string to the bow of the CPD portfolio offered by YES, a University owned subsidiary that originated in the Dept of Electronics over 10 years ago. 2007-08 was its best ever year for CPD, with over £265K of training provided in partnership with colleagues in the Dept of Electronics.
Chris Clegg, YES’s CPD Manager adds “The CPD Department is going from strength to strength, with around 60% of the £265K being on-site provision of training at customer premises. Customers want a trusted, high-quality provider who is flexible enough to meet their demands in a timely and cost effective manner – and that is where YES comes in”.
More broadly, YES is also performing better than ever, with 2007-08 set to be the best year since the company was founded in 1995, as Managing Director, Chris Marshman, observes; “this year has seen us pass the £2M turnover mark for the first time and has seen the business consolidate the acquisition of a test laboratory in Bristol made in early 2007. This, added to our sites at York, Castleford and Donibristle (Fife) sees YES as a well-established market leader in EMC solutions”.
YES is wholly owned by the University and employs 35 staff at its 4 sites, providing EMC solutions worldwide. It operates fully ISO accredited facilities, is an IET Endorsed provider for CPD and an Investor in People recognised organisation.
