Electromagnetic field (EMF) assessment, an essential part of the CE Marking process
Electromagnetic Field (EMF) Testing
We undertake EMF measurements, site surveys and assessments for a wide range of equipment and environments across a wide range of industry sectors.
Exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) can cause a number of adverse health related conditions and thus form an essential part of compliance and CE marking process. In addition, EMFs are now part of the Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
We are able to measure radiated EMF from DC to 40 GHz.
EMF Site-Survey | Health and Safety Law
If you operate, control, or work in an environment which uses high currents or radio frequency equipment then you need to be aware of the EMF requirements in the workplace. Examples include factories, foundries, bakeries, production lines and power generation areas such as substations; especially where vulnerable users are involved (e.g. people with pacemakers and pregnant women).
We offer site-surveys against the requirements of the new EMF Directive 2013/35/EU which was transposed into UK law by The Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations (SI 2016 No 588), making it an important part of Health and Safety at Work.
Organisations affected by this legislation therefore need to hold evidence of compliance with the legal requirements of this Health and Safety Directive. In the Rail sector, GLGN1620 (published by the RSSB) additionally provides specific guidance for applying these regulations.

Household Appliance EMF Assessment to EN62233
We offer specialist EMF assessment for household appliances to EN62233 which is called up by EN60335 under the Low Voltage Directive.
Lighting EMF Assessments to EN62493
We also offer specialist EMF measurements for lighting products to EN62493, required for their CE marking under the Low Voltage Directive.
A Van Der Hoofden Head is used to measure EMF emissions from lighting products.
