Fundamentals of EMC (5 days)

Fundamentals of EMC* is a highly recommended, unique five day course that will provide you with the essential knowledge required to help manage EMC and achieve EMC compliance.

An understanding of EMC is essential for the reliable operation of electrical/electronics equipment and systems for the commercial, automotive and aerospace markets.

It is illegal to sell or operate electronic equipment or systems that are not compliant with the EMC Directive within the European Economic Area. 

This 5 day course consists of:

  • Four days of lectures and demonstrations
  • One day of practical demonstrations at our UKAS accredited Testing Laboratory to illustrate the commonly required EMC tests described in the EN61000-4-x series of standards, such as: Conducted Emissions; Radiated Emissions; Conducted Immunity; Radiated Immunity

Applying the knowledge and understanding from this course will improve the management of EMC, minimise the risk of unforseen problems and project/production delays in equipment manufacture thus reducing business risk.

The New EMC Directive

The new EMC Directive 2014/30/EU is now in force with no transition period. The implications of the new provisions will be discussed in this course.

What is it about?

This course covers the basics of EMC from its underlying theory through to the standards and regulatory environment of testing - including design requirements and how to achieve EMC assurance or EMC product compliance.
