Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is a major issue for safe and reliable operation of railways. There have been many changes in recent months regarding regulation of safety assurance and new EMC regulations stemming from the European EMC Directive 2004/108/EC. It is important to review these issues and their impact on the railway industry.

Course Content

This workshop looks at the practical implications for the Railway Industry of 2004/108/EC and particularly focuses on the requirement for manufacturers to draw up ‘technical documentation’; it also looks at the implications for infrastructure controllers of ‘fixed installations’.
